Portugal
Portugal offers a five-year residence-by-investment programme for non-EU nationals. It provides access to the Schengen area and requires an average physical presence of only seven days per year.
Residence options
Investment funds
EUR 500,000 in Portuguese investment or venture-capital funds, with at least 60% of the portfolio invested in companies headquartered in Portugal (real estate excluded). EUR 400,000 in low-density areas.
Scientific or technological research
EUR 500,000 in research activities by public or private entities that are part of the national scientific and technological system. EUR 400,000 in low-density areas.
Cultural or artistic heritage
EUR 250,000 to support artistic production or the preservation of national cultural heritage. EUR 200,000 in low-density areas.
Job creation
Creation of at least ten jobs (eight in low-density areas), or incorporation of a company with EUR 500,000 and five permanent jobs over three years.
